telephone and internet companies have a lot of phone numbers.
when I  was with Centurylink, there must have been about 5 or even 10 phone numbers.
I have Comcast now and it's the same; there are numerous phone numbers.
sometimes, when you call, they'll give you another number and say "you need to call this number."
the wait time is long sometimes when you call certain numbers for that one company.

I despise calling companies anymore especially when you have a problem. Recently I was on the phone for two hours and was rerouted 6 times to various people all because there was an erroneous charge on my debit card. It took me three months to get it cleared up! Unacceptable!
