Free Movies
« on: November 04, 2017, 07:41:36 am »
I enjoy a good movie once in a while, but don't like to pay for them (except on the big screen), so I was happy Roku came out with their own channel with lots of them. They are old movies (the good ones) with a lot of choices I have not seen yet. I watched Standing Tall and American Outlaw the last couple of nights and enjoyed them. They do interrupt with commercials, but not nearly as long as regular TV does.

One more reason I enjoy having a Roku device at a one time charge as low as $35.

Going to have to look into a Roku device.  I don't know much about it but we do enjoy old movies and I like the idea of a once time fee.  Thanks for letting us know about it.

I have Rokus... I'm going to need to check that out.

There really is no need for the pay channels on cable any longer that is for sure.

I don't have Roku, but does that work with an app system?  Using Kodi?  Regardless I have something that was a one time fee and I can watch any movie ever made and and tv show episode ever.  All free.

Definitely better having Netflix, Amazon, Roku or other devices to watch a good old movie :))

I wouldn't want to pay for renting it UNLESS it's really really worth it.

Roku is simply a device you add to your TV (or buy a Roku TV that has it pre-installed) and can be from a HDMI plug-in for $35 to a more sophisticated set-top box for up to $100, but once you own it all you pay is for the Internet (which I had anyway) and any subscription channels (like Netflix). It also has a lot of free channels you can watch.   :star:

I really adore those good old black and white movies! I once had a roommate years ago who asked me how I could stand to watch movies in black and white. She just couldn't understand it, and she was MY age! ;D
