Yes I do shake hands.  The only time I won't is if I'm sick then I politely explain, I've been ill.

I am still a shaker. I am also a hugger with friends. I am not currently in the workforce so my immunity is not what it used to be and I rarely get sick. I am a frequent hand washer as well.

It really depends on the situation. I personally don't like to shake hands, but if I'm in a job interview, I'm shaking hands.

Yes, I'm a hand shaker, but don't always offer my hand first.

As for being germ-conscious, I'm a frequent hand washer (and use hand sanitizer when I need to), so I don't worry too much about someone transferring germs.

I shake hands if the person sticks out their hand first as though they expect it.  Luckily, now that I'm older and no longer in the workforce, the situations for handshaking are rare.  I will say that one time someone held out their hand and wanted to shake and the person was so "swarmy" looking that I just said, "I don't shake hands with people because I have a delicate immune system which seems to let me get sick easily."  Luckily, it was also the cold and flu season.  I would prefer not to do so in most cases.

I will definitely shake someones hand if it is offered. I was taught you always give a firm handshake and look them in the eye when you meet people. :pumpkin: :peace:

I am seriously health conscious and it has never crossed my mind not to shake someones hand.  So yeah, I shake people's hands.

Yes.  I'm not a germaphobe.  I don't lick my hand after I shake it so it's not a big deal to me.

Hand shake doesn't bother me.  I normally do not shake hands.

I shake hands when I have to but would rather not.  I keep hand sanitizer handy for when I do.
Have a wonderful day!

All the time and I don't whip out my sanitizer in front of them either. Getting too paranoid about germs just means the slightest one will hit you like a plague. I prefer to build my immunity.

Well said, oldbuddy. I always shake hands with anyone I meet and especially with the guys with their veteran's caps on in order to thank them for their service.

What's a few germs between friends? Just don't put your hand in your mouth before you wash again. Simple.  :angel11:

I do it without thinking about but always either wash my hands when I can or use the hand sanitizer that I keep in my purse.

If I have to shake hands I always have wet wipes on me.  People are nasty and you don't know where their hands have been.
