What do you think of being single!?
« on: October 04, 2017, 06:56:18 am »
I have no problem with it.  I have had girlfriends but I enjoy the freedom for now.  It's funny because people will look at me like I'm weird or like "what's wrong with him?"  that I don't have a girlfriend or someone to go to a wedding with right now. etc

I've been single since 2005 and before that, I was married for 25 years.  I love living as an individual.  I have a natural tendency to accommodate people I'm with so when I spend time alone....

I can accommodate myself.  There's no going back to married life, for me.
Have a great day!

I can't imagine it for me, but I have a son who is in his mid 50's and still single. He did have a girlfriend earlier this year, but he lives in Alaska so I don't see him too often. I do hope it progresses, because he seems to be happier when I do talk to him.

Nothing wrong with being single. I was in committed relationships from 2011-2017, and only this year am I again on my own. Honestly, I find myself happier. I'm able to do what I want when I want, and I'm free to date or have relations with whomever I want. Being single isn't a fate of dying alone. It means you have a lot of freedoms that you wouldn't otherwise have.

I think being single is the perfect lifestyle for some people, people who like to have the freedom to do whatever they want whenever they want without having to accommodate wishes or time constraints others might put on them. Some people are just happier that way. I am happy as a married person but should my hubby die before me, there is no way I would ever get involved with someone else again. I would much prefer the single lifestyle at that point.

Braggin': You said it perfectly, I think.  I have been married and divorced twice and then in a relationship that lasted over 16 years before it dissolved.  I guess I'm not that good at being with someone.  Luckily, after my second divorce I learned to be with myself and don't mind it about 80-90% of the time. Sometimes it is so nice to do exactly what I want when I want and not have to contend with someone else's personality quirks, habits and needs.  I'll not say NEVER when talking about another relationship, but unless it finds me and seems right, I'm probably single for the remainder of my life.

I have never had a problem being single.  From what I see so many people are getting divorces because they are simply miserable being married.

People are stupid.  If you want to be single there is nothing wrong with that.  Nothing at all.

I'm 32, single and never been married.  Sure I get those looks.  I get people asking me why.  I could care less what people think.  I'm enjoying my life and that is what matters.  I see a friend that I haven't seen in quite a while, without fail they will ask me if I am married.  I say, "No, I'm not divorced either!"

I personally think if you're single that's great, if your married that's great, if you date or not that's great too.  Everyone is different and whatever makes you happy is all that counts.

I was single for most of my life. I finally found someone and I am happy to have them in my life but there have been a few times where, I am like I use to do this or that with ease. I know at times she feels the same way. We talk about everything so I think that is what makes our relationship special and well worth it.

I don't mind being single but I may consider the right person if they come along.

I'm fine being single.  Sometimes I have a yearning for a steady significant other but not enough to settle for foolishness to get it.  I'm fine for now- lol.
