potty training

 ???help have tried everything my granddaughter will be three oct 14 been trying to potty train for 4 months just cant get no where

The last time we potty trained, it's been years ago. We took our youngest daughter to the store and had her pick out big girl panties that she liked (get them involved) also a plastic twin bed cover (accidents will happen) stickers (any kind) & a cheap calendar.

With my daughter we packed up all pull-ups and any sign of diapers what so ever & donated them. While doing this I explained to my daughter a child in need can really use these & you are a big girl who has big girl panties.
PUT plastic on bed! ASAP
When your child uses the potty aka pee, poop (if you suggested them set or they went on their own) give them a sticker, kids love stickers! Also no matter how many times they went on the potty mark it on the calendar (this too will make them proud)
Wake them up in the middle of the night to potty. This will occur less often when your child is fully potty trained.
The biggest thing we did is when our daughter went a week accident free we had a potty party & she helped make her own cake for being a big girl.

Best advice ever- make it fun for the child even if it is stressful on the adults. Kids like fun things. Good luck!

Talk to your grand daughter about being a big girl. For instance, tell her things bigs do and include going potty all by themselves.Take her to the park and other places kids are; and show her other kids who are not wearing diapers. This is not to make her feel bad, but to encourage her, that she can do the sane thing. Start by taking her out of the diapers. Use pull ups and let her tell you when she feels the need to potty. When she successfully goes potty, reward her with favorite thing. Also, give her the diapers and have her give or throw them away. Then she will remember that she no longer have  them.

At night use the pull ups for sleep. After about  two hours go and take her to potty. Do this about twuce nightly until she gets use to it. Slowly, but surely, she will get the message and will be going potty by herself after a while.

Potty training take a lot of patience and time.  You have to have a good system that is consistent for dog.

im trying to have patience its not easy she is a screamer when she dont get her way and you try to make her do something she doesnt want to she lays on floor and screams

one thing i have learned from my two kiddos is they will potty train when they are ready the more you push the less they want to my son took forever but my daughter decided at two she wanted to go in the big girl potty --i have no words of wisdom but wish you all the luck in the world !

Two comments regarding this process I experienced long ago.

we dot shame she in school i hope they are not shaming i will be mad she is going occassionally but she will not go for the aide at all butthis is the first week we will see thanks for the well wishes

My family had that experience, once, we solved that problem, by sending her to school, where for some reason, the transition was much easier...

Don't feel bad. My son who turned 3 back in July has no interest in the toliett what so ever.

He has a counselor coming to the house and shes helping set up a chart.

well he can tell me everything that the chart tells him to do but he doesn't do it. so fusterating. Hes over 4 feet tall and almost 50 pounds. Diapers and pull ups are hard to find at a good price.

Now his 1 year old sister is in love with the potty and I am hoping that this really helps.

It would be great if they both potty trained at the same time.

I would love to have another baby right now but don't want 3 in diapers.

its going really well my daughter has her going every half hour she finally going for the teachers aide still alot of accidents but we are definitely progressing

I know a woman with a 5 year old "baby" still using pampers
