The toliet seat
« on: September 21, 2009, 08:14:54 pm »
This has been an argument between men and women since the darn thing was invented I'm sure.  Well I want to hear both sides arguments and hope to shed a little light on why we fight about something this silly.  Why should men put the seat down for a woman...

My argument...

#1 Falling in...i know it's trite and men say watch what you are doing.  Well when its the middle of the night and I'm half asleep and don't want to turn on the light I fall in.

#2 Germs!!  Leaving the seat up just allows more germs to creep through the air and around your bathroom.  Making it a pretty disgusting place to get clean if you think about it.

#3  Women always sit down...  Sometimes men sit down too, but women always do.  So when we go in the seat has to be down but how are we to know if you are going to need it up or down?  If we lift it when we are done and you have to sit you're gonna put it down anyway.  But on these occasions you leave it down proving its just laziness :)  hehehe

I dont have to worry about this as my husband always puts the seat back down for me and our two little girls.

My bf leaves the toilet seat up.  I just put it down when I use it no big deal.

My husband very rarely leaves it up thankfully.  I don't think I've ever had to mention it to him.

ah yes, no matter how many times you say it.
and no matter how nicely (or naggy) you ask.
there you go, plopping right into the gigantic, cold
ring of doom in the middle of the night.

how difficult is it to remember? i can understand
if you've just moved in together... or if there's two
bathrooms in the house or something.

but the benefit of the doubt gets old quick  :P

I close the whole thing too, but arguing over this is unnecessary. Just lift it yourself if you need it up, or put it down if you need it to be down.

My husband has the worst bathroom habits.  I am just glad that he puts the seat up to go to the bathroom.  I am on him all the time and he get better for a few days or a week then back to the same old habits.  WIsh I had a way of breakign them.  Oh well though some things just arent worth arguiung about

May wars have broken out in my house, between myself and my husband.  He finally gave in, when our last child was born.  It was a wonderful victory.
