I sometimes do, but not all the time. I do get up every morning at 6am to get ready for work.

Can't say I do.  I usually go to bed around 2 or 3 AM in the morning.

This happens once in while to me but been noticing it more often when I drink coffee after dinner.  Never bother me in the past.  Guess I need to try decaffeinated coffee.

Part of the problem is I go to bed too early but I do that so I don't over eat- I know that sounds strange.

My problem is I don't start my work shift until noon, but I'm always awake before 6am. I can't help it -- I need to be in bed by 930/10 or I'll collapse. I wish I could train my body to stay up later and sleep in to around 10am during the week. That would be ideal for me, even though I'm well aware sleeping late is a sign of depression, but if you're also staying up late, doesn't it balance out? I dunno. I keep busy in the mornings taking care of the animals, cleaning the house, and shopping for lunch/dinner ingredients for the day.

there is a breathing exercise that works!
I was skeptical until I tried it.

first: breathe in counting to 4.
exhale
next: hold your breath for a count of 7
exhale
do this two more times.
you will fall asleep.
falling asleep takes a little time, as usual.

I'm not sure where I originally discovered this exercise, but have been using it for many months, and most of the time it works for me.  Sometimes I have to repeat it a couple of times, but it's made me a believer.  If I need additional help, I put a couple of drops of lavendar essential oil on the bottoms of my feet, and that works, I'd say, 95% of the time.

I have a terrible time with sleep too. I only get about 5 hours sleep but need at least 8 and walk around like a zombie in the daytime because of it. I finally got so frustrated about it, I spoke to my doctor and she is sending me to have a sleep study done so she can offer specific advice about how to correct the problem.

I rarely wake up in the night, except when mother nature calls and then I can usually go back to sleep.
