Nuts are heart healthy and recommended as a snack, though I don’t eat nearly as much of them as I should. I wish I ate healthier. Soft pretzels are a guilty pleasure of mine. Lol

I enjoy chewing on soft ginger candy once a while, but not as a snack. Consuming too much of it makes me feel dehydrated with excess heat. The same goes with crystallized ginger. Too much of anything cannot be good. I would consume in moderation. Fruits are the healthier more balanced option. I am only motivated to shop for healthier alternatives.

I had an Aunt that kept crystallized ginger on hand... it was cube shaped and anytime someone in her household started up with cold symptoms she would break a piece off and they would nibble on it.  She also added it to tea and other things...I never had it though.  She said it was bitter. I've picked up bags of dried edamame. Kept them in my car...since I'm allergic to tree nuts these psychologically have me thinking I'm making a smart choice.

Mints- or even cough drops.  Just something extra crunchy and sweet.

I am a serious snacker and try very hard to have fruits and vegetables on hand at all times for those moments. I also like pretzels and rice cakes.
