Do You Intend To Donate To The Houston Relief Effort?
« on: September 02, 2017, 09:40:46 am »
I can't give much but I think I will donate in a month or two when this first wave of donations are finished coming in and I hear reports on what is needed down there and who/what organization is still down there contributing.  I can only think about the saying, "There but for the Grace of God go I..." and certainly would want people to help me for some time in a similar circumstance.  When I watch on TV, I simply can't imagine walking into my home or my job and see that kind of devastation.  I simply can't imagine and hope I never have to.  What about you?  Have you contributed or intend to?

Yes, as I feel every little bit will help regardless of the amount ; watching the people on TV has been hear wrenching; it makes us all to be thankful for just the basic needs  in our every day life!

Yes.  I did just this morning while checking out at Sam's Club.  For every $1 donated, Walmart matches it by $2.... up to $20 million. The one at Sam's Club goes to the Red Cross.... so far they have raised $25 million. :)

It all adds up.

I donate to other non profits and hope they will send funds or items for relief.  I like the money to go directly to the ones in need and not administrative cost or greedy people handling it.

If I do or did I would not post it online.  I am so sick of seeing on Facebook and Twitter how much this person or that person donated.

Did at Walmart again.  It is never much but I guess every little bit helps.  Our church is taking up donations next week and the  charity house where I volunteer has donated in all of our names which I thought was great. Plus  a truck is coming to pick up  some of what we can share on its way to Houston  Tuesday.

I know. That's not always a good way to persuade people to donate to any foundation or any similar group.
