I hate my job!

When I was in high school and lived with my grandparents, I remember them working late nights running a spirit duplicator (horrible smell) to print out educational bulletins against the Union takeover where my granddad worked and they never did get in. I has grateful for that experience that kept me from ever joining one. I know they were the salvation for many workers in the early days, but graft and corruption made them nothing but strong arm bullies.

Join the club. I hate mine because I'm a college graduate doing work that technically only requires a high school degree. I'm able to support myself on my salary, but I'm not making nearly what my peers make, and have been forced to "side hustle" on websites like this, as well as having a roommate to help me pay my mortgage. I wish I could retire, but I'm only 30 years old. Lol

I hope you can find one that you are passionate about, it has to be hard to go to a job every day that you hate ; but of course you keep because it pays the bills; hopefully you can find  a more fulfilling position. Good luck!

It sucks when jobs are never fun and you stop just having the motivation to work. I hope it picks up and you are happy again with working at your job!

I actually like my job. It's easy, and quick..sometimes it's a pain in the butt but honestly, it's a pretty decent job. I get to make my own hours for the most part and get to meet a whole bunch of cool and some not so cool people. Overall, it's a good job and I really can't complain about it.

Yep, I'm only 30, but would love nothing more than to be retired. How much do you have to save up to be retired these days? I've heard several million, and I'm (obviously) nowhere near that. My job gets pretty tedious, but it is paying my mortgage so I try not to complain too much. Plus, I have a couple side hustles (a tenant in my basement, this, and grocery store rebate apps) to slightly supplement my income. I'm just putting all of that into retirement and hopefully that'll allow me to quit my job at a reasonable enough age so I can focus more on my house, pets, eating healthy, and traveling.

The best thing I did to prepare for retirement (I have been retired 18 years now), was to start my own business and buy my office, so my company could pay for it, then I sold it when I retired and kept all the money. My grandpa told me many years ago, they are not making any more dirt and that's true.

I am fresh out of an afternoon meeting where we were told that our capabilities were not being fully utilized and revised the monthly production numbers. In looking at the numbers I see about a one hundred and forty three percent increase. I average about fifty hours a week and am salaried. This increase will require me to work about seventy hours a week. I like my job but an extra twenty hours a week tells me that my excellent work ethic is needed somewhere else. There is not a single person at this job that works less than forty five hours a week. Two people put in their resignations this afternoon and another three have indicated that they will be following suit by next Wednesday. In anticipation of this meeting there were four that quit yesterday. This represents five percent of our department.

Employers really dont treat employees right these days. Then we leave, and they complain how nobody's loyal anymore.

Look at the good: You have money to pay your bills, food, etc. You have a place to stay and transportation. Just stay positive and before you know if, there will be an opportunity to move up or out to some place better, but stay positive and grateful.
