It is already bad enough that Texas is going through this Hurricane Harvey, but now they are catching looters in the evacuated areas.  One of the idiots that they caught said they didn't think the police would be out for a few more hours.  Besides some jail time, maybe these dopes should have to do community service clean up too in the areas they were looting.

The persons he stole from should get 15 minutes to beat him about the head.  It is the same when a person's house burns down.  Before they can get to the site to see if anything is salvageable some idiot will be snooping thru trying to see if there is anything they want.  People are unbelievable.

Whenever I see disasters such as this, my heart goes out to babies, small children, and pets.

They do not understand what is going on.

Unfortunately, there will always be those who are willing to screw everyone else over to get something free or to make a buck.

However, I also know that there are a lot more people who help each other, and go out of their way to help others.

What about the average aged people?  You don't care about them?

Unfortunately this should not be a surprise.  There are plenty of crazy people out there and they are determined to prove what type of people they are.

Lower than life people. They have no feeling and should be mandated to clean up the area for free. They should place them on the news with an apology to the public.

This always happens when a situation like this occurs. Someone will always take advantage when people are at their lowest.

The same thing happened in NO after Katrina, and probably happens every time there's a hurricane that causes a major disaster. considering that it's Texas, someone should be waiting for them with a gun, and put a permanent end to their looting.

I just can't believe that! Just make sure you don't get in their way they might be armed and perhaps take advantage of you and your loved ones. Your safety and your family's safety should be number one priority. Perhaps the law will get them later when all is calm.

It's a shame because people will always take advantage of a situation.  Hope the looting ends!

Since my last post, I've been thinking about this in-depth.

There are two types of looters. There is the type who steals expensive items like televisions and computers (to make a buck).

Then, there are the ones who steal items to survive: food, blankets, and various other items to make it through the hurricane.

I have no problem with the second type of looter. When you are fighting to survive, you should be able to take things that will help you stay alive.

I don't think there is one person on here who will be in eight feet of water and not do anything they can to keep from drowning or starving.

That, I can understand . . .

Country Girl:

I never said nor did I imply that I do not care about "average-aged people." However, average-aged people have an advantage in situations such as this. I am talking about those who cannot help themselves in everyday life let alone a hurricane.

Pardon me for asking, but are you naturally this idiotic or do you work extra hard at it?

You come across as an argumentative little twit. I will not discuss anything else with you because I am not fluent in idiocy.

I understand looting grocery stores because you are hungry but looting someones house when they are the most down is awful.  Karma will catch up with them.
