companies such as Apple, are hoping that people will continue to buy their products.
they don't mind if the product breaks because the person has to replace it and spend more money.

I was a loyal customer to Apple but the middle of last year I decided to give the Samsung Galaxy line a try. I don't see me ever going back. Samsung Galaxy is always making new phone models but the biggest difference between the two is that the phones are not useless like Apple ones once the newest model comes out and the older generation can no longer update itself.

I take really good care of my things so they last a long time. I drive a 1965 jeep that costs me next to nothing, is pretty uncomplicated so it is easy for me to fix and I don't have unreasonable expectations. My Rayban sunglasses are over twenty years old. Today's generation seems to be perpetually in need of the newest and hottest items rather than researching the durability and taking care of what they have. The stocks that I purchase are for the long run-value stocks that are not dramatic gainers. My iphone was over five years old when my son broke it last week. I purchased the same model, with larger memory capacity, for a much lower price. My phone pays for itself in under two months with the phone applications that I frequent.

We are not very good at keeping up with the latest gadgets, but I have a grandson that likes all the latest and greatest technical devices. So, I am always searching for the newest and best techy gift I can surprise him with.

I'm not a spender but it's a very high priority to have a nice laptop and subscribe to the internet.  It's important to me that I'm able to continue to pick up pennies and work on my website.

That's why I usually research laptops and make sure I have a few laptops that would meet my needs - in my wishlist.  Back to school time is great for getting discounts on laptops so I've been "window shopping" on the internet lately.

Have a great day!

I like the way you think.  I am always hearing my husband complain that he can't fix a car any more.  They are so complicated and computer driven that there can be no DIY repairs.  Back in the 50's, he could fix any problem that presented itself!  He also uses Raybans!

I frankly do not care about Apple’s latest and numerous gadgets like their smartwatches, TV or whatever is released for consumerism. I am happy and adequately equipped with what I have and do not need to purchase things that are unnecessary. If their product breaks easily, then their quality is going downhill.  :bad:

I am not into gadgets to much, I know there are so many on the market but I do not tend to keep up with them that well; we have a store in the mall with all kinds of gadgets and it is always crowded with adults and children trying out different things, so there is definitely a market for them.

I prefer to shop quality items and then take care of them.  Tech gadgets seem no different these days than sunglasses and designer handbags that seem to always be in demand based on the latest and greatest trend, style, celebrity look, etc.  Just imagine the accumulation over time trying to keep up.

Just got the Google Home.  I wasn't convinced I would use it but there was a road show for it at work and I loved it.  Plus with a store discount I got it for 40% off!
