Sippy Cups
« on: August 03, 2017, 07:22:21 pm »
What age do you think A child should be out of a sippy cup?
I am wondering because apparently many diffrent people have
diffrent views on this...
I am not a parent.. But when i see 4 and 5 year old's with a sippy cup
I am thinking.. What in the world is going on here...
These kids should be out of sippy cups by now!
Just my personal opinion...
What do you think?

It depends on the child and how messy/clumsy they are.  I would much rather they be drinking from a cup with a lid than cleaning up spilled liquids all the time.
Have a wonderful day!

I totally agree with you ... i am not a parent but when to ditch the sippy cup is different for every child

It only takes that one time of tipping over a regular cup at the dinner table that makes you wish the kids were still using them!  LOL.  I think our daughter was 5 when we stopped using them, but I cannot recall for sure.

A cup with a lid is much better for everyone.  Some children get real upset when they spill thing, why ruin there day.

Keep the child on sippy cups as long as possible.... prevents spills.
Go from child sippy cups to cups with straws & they'll continue with those & adult sippy cups (think hot beverages from starbucks) for the rest of their lives.

Cups with lids are the best :)

I agree... the classic sippy cup is not good for their teeth either.
I found these bottles "Contigo Trekker Kids Water Bottle" and they were fun to use for small kids... even a 2year old can learn to use it and it does not spill... so that's great... and has no piece you put in your mouth (which is better too)...

A cup with a lid is good for sure until a certain age. Especially when you want them to have access to water all the time without the stress of them accidentally throw it on the floor.
These bottles I have roll on the floor every time and that's safe. No drops out and water available any time with them asking me every single moment.

Sippy cups are not as messy as regular cups. Big people use sippy cups too when you think about it
