Driving stick is so pointless when the cars that are coming out these days have better performance with an automatic.

It is a good idea to learn both you might like a car that is only a comes in standard. I know how to drive both but like automatic better.

I have never learned to drive a standard shift, but maybe I should.

Heck, they are talking about self-driving cars.  I think the stick shift is becoming a thing of the past.  I wouldn't bother if I were you, but it's a personal decision.

My husband taught me many years ago but I prefer automatic because I don't like having to do all that shifting when driving. Hubby was afraid I would flip the car because when I get to fourth gear I stay there for curves and everything.  I did it but it was very sad and not enjoyable but my girlfriend loves shifting.

I wished I would have learning it just so I know but I really have no use for it. I have tried to learn a time of 2 but that was along time ago.
