Close friends

Do you have a lot of close friends that live out of state that you
still keep in contact with .  I have a few that I text or talk to.
As we get older, we start  to lose a lot of
friends. We got to keep in touch while we can.

I reached out to a friend from my grammar school / high school days.
we grew up together.
I gave her my texting number in hopes that we can communicate more often.
She told me that she is having treatment fora brain tumor.
I know my niece's husband was able to recover from it.
He had a brain tumor when they were engaged.
I have found that communication with friends or family is like this: "some do and some don't"
I had a friend from college who lost her husband 9 years ago; I found out on the internet.
I sent her a sympathy letter with my text number - no answer.

I have a few. It's actually funny because when we all met working at a small theatre in a town that barely had cell phone service so instead of texting we would rely on facebook messanger to talk to communicate since it worked with wifi. To this day I still don't have their actual phone numbers and the only time we talk is on facebook messanger or skype but I consider them some of my dearest friends. We always laugh about it though.

yes all three of my besties live in different states than i ---one in Georgia , one in Florida and one in Texas --we keep in touch through facebook and text i hope someday i can see all three again if money and fate will allow

Over the years, I have lived in a few different states. I have some friends from the midwest, some friends I hooked up with after moving back to the east coast, and A lot of new ones I meet online. And I am still meeting new ones daily

Most have moved on but I wouldn't say necessarily they are gone. Just progressive in interests I don't follow.

I personally feel like anyone who has a lot of close friends is fooling themselves.  Rather out of town or not.  I do have a couple of real good friends out of town that i stay in contact with.

I have only one close friend, and she lives less than 20 minuets away from me.

I grew up in a military town so I had friends constantly moving away after a few years then went away for college so I now have friends all over the world.  Facebook and social media has been amazing in helping to keep in touch with so many people along with texts, calls and occasional visits

A lot of my friends are on facebook.  I don't necessarily spend a lot of time with them - in person.  I'm very selective about who I hang out with.

I am friends with some ladies I went to grammar school with, mostly via Facebook since we all live in different states now.  When we see each other it is just like it was only yesterday.  It is a great way to keep up with family too.

I am a senior and still in contact with friends from High School days. We stay in contact mostly through Facebook but occasionally we try to get together for a meal in person too. It's nice to have old friends like that although I really appreciate some new ones I've recently made too.

I keep in touch with one girl I went to elementary school with. Facebook makes it easier to keep in touch, we text and call as well. We don't live in the same state anymore but she might be moving here at some point.
