I have always wanted to know if there is any real good reason to buy stocks? I know that its so risky and you can lose alot of money!

Yes. You can lose money and you can make money.  I have a few individual stocks that I watch very closely, but I really prefer mutual funds which are a blend of various stocks.  Kind of spreads the risk  so if one stock goes down, a different one may increase in value. If you're going to buy stocks, do your research.

I don't buy stock anymore. I did back in the 80's and I remember it going up and down. I cannot afford to take any loses.

Thanks for the input. I do think it is a good risk to take giving some more though. I cant afford to buy property and that doesnt seem to be going to well yet?

Risky but the rewards can be big in a bull market.

There are very good reasons to invest in general.  As far as stocks, you investments should be balanced.  If you are at all serious about investing you should read Money: Master The Game by Tony Robbins.
