Homeowner helped catch criminals
« on: June 16, 2017, 08:18:45 am »
Did anyone read the story about the homeowner who held the runaway inmates from Georgia at gunpoint until the cops could come and take them away?

They were trying to steal his car. It happened in Tennessee.  Yay!!

I did hear they were caught but didn't read the story yet about the homeowner.  Wow that is cool but I think I would have just let them have the car rather than risk my life with two killers I mean even if you shot one the other might be able to get you but bless his heart all is well that ends well I guess.  They are back in custody and the homeowner and his car are safe.

Yes.
That was a great ending to what could have been a tragic one.

Good wins over evil, sometimes it just takes a little time.

I didn't have a chance to read the story but was very happy to see the headline and picture.

I haven't heard that one.  Awesome though when people take things into there own hands rather sit and wait... I pray that I'm never in that situation... but if I were I hope I would have the will to step up.

There were TWO homeowners. The first one held them at bay and called his neighbor to come packing, too, to help keep them under guard until the cops could get there.

That's two incidents in as many days where guns saved lives. The first one was the Capital police who killed the nut that tried to kill the Republicans at baseball practice.  There are plenty of stories where guns saved lives but you don't hear about most of them because the news isn't interested in those stories. Blood and gore or scandals are all they want because that's what sells. Yellow journalism is alive and well.

I live in the town where the two inmates broke into a couple house and keep them hostage for 3 hours  and then they took their jeep and went through town and got on interstate and then they had wreck and got away and then came upon the house where they were captured.  It was scarry  here that day.  So glad there no one killed here. :o.  God was with with those people.  Hope everyone ha a good day and may God bless each of you and keep you safe.

The 911 call gave me chills. They're very lucky they didn't get hurt, and I'm glad those monsters are back in their cage.

Did not see or hear about the story, but that is a brave homeowner? It is sad that things we work so hard for and others just feel they are entitled to take it!

That's what I'm talking about it. It reminded me of the (controversial) "Stand Your Ground" law in Florida, made more popular by the Trayvon Martin case. I would have probably done the same thing. Unfortunately, sometimes private citizens have to take matters in their own hands...since the justice system in this country is laughable at best.
