autographs
« on: June 14, 2017, 08:22:22 am »
I never got anyone's autograph.
There are many people who go to baseball games and get their baseball signed by the players.
Sports players give autographs.
So do authors at  book signings in bookstores.
There are a number of things that can make a person famous.
The more time passes, the more valuable an autograph is.

Never got an autograph.
But I do see people getting them at the baseball fields... get a signed anything from star players has value for sure.

My Aunt used to wait in line at book signings for different authors - lines were always so long.  I see the autographed books sell higher on ebay, I'd always wanted a book that Stephen King signed, never got one.

Autographs have great historical value a lot of the time.

My best autograph is Bruce Springsteen.  Personalized to me.  I cherish that one.

I don't know if anyone remembers this band, but I got an autograph from John Sebastian of the Lovin' Spoonful.

My most memorable autograph was from Dinah Shore.  If you are under 50 years old, you probably never heard of her.  I was on a field trip with my elementary school to our state capitol and she was there for some reason.  I also got the governor's autograph that same day.  I still have them both.

When I was little my dad took me to the Rutgers athletic center where the New Jersey nets played their home games. We use to go watch them practice and after the practice they would sign autographs. I was able to get Bernard king and John Williamson and many others. Today I go to NASCAR races and my kids try to get autographs. They were able to get Jimmie Johnson and joey Logano. They were both very excited.

The only autographs I got were from voice actors when I attended a convention center and one from an author who signed her book addressed to me.  :rose:

I have never gotten an autograph. Never really thought about it, but it would be neat to have autographs from some people.

I have a lot of autographs from wrestlers, or I should say my son does. This has been our thing that past couple of years. He has this illustrated book on wrestlers that he uses as his autograph book. They love seeing this and gladly sign it for him.

I've had the chance to get several "big name" autographs, but honestly, never thought of it 'till after the fact. Oh well, it's a nice memory meeting someone famous... and I'm glad my "celebrity meetings" have all been pleasant.
