I have good weeks and bad weeks where I sleep good and others where I have trouble. This week has been a bad week for me. I did not fall asleep till 4 am this morning and 3 am the night before. I am not sure what to do but I am getting tired of this crazy sleep cycle of mine.

Have you tried melatonin? It might help you.

I've had insomnia since a kid.  Nothing helps....and I've tried ALOT of recommendations.   Just when I think it can't get any worse....

I took in a 6 year old cat (a few months ago, she needed a home, owner was going to euthanize her) and she's such a sweetie but.....she DEMANDS the lights go out at 8:30 p.m. !   ::)

She's got me trained really well because, there's NO OTHER reason I would turn out the lights that early...(she's got a real "knack" for getting ANYTHING her heart desires)!  :D

And then she falls asleep right away.....but not me.   :(

When I wake up and can't go back to sleep, I talk to the Lord through prayer.  Seems like in no time, I am back to sleep!
Have a wonderful day!

I will usually first clear my head and focus on basically nothing, i will set my sight on my forehead, you know how your forehead looks, so close your eyes and don't put anything on your mind, just do a blank stare with your eyes closed. Have it absolutely quiet in your house, complete darkness, keep doing that and you will drift off to sleep.

I read.  I fall asleep for a few hours, then I'm awake for a couple hours, then sleep for another three.
When I'm awake in the middle of the night my brain is on fire. So I read some more and practice reciting the alphabet backwards.

Why don't you try working at something creative or watching TV until you get so exhausted that you have to push up your eyelids with toothpicks?
