Tooth/ Jaw pain
« on: June 02, 2017, 03:55:03 am »
Tooth and jaw pain are two of the worst pains. As expensive as it is to go to the dentist even
with insurance, I am going to have to go anyway.

Do you go to the dentist for your regular visits?

You should look into one of those sliding scale programs. They charge you according to your income. if you don't have an income, they don't charge you :peace:

Are there any teaching hospitals near you with dentistry programs?  Also, sometimes colleges have departments where they train dental hygienists or dentists and they will take people as patients.  The student is usually well into their studies and supervised by a practicing hygienis/dentist.  Look into it for the future.

LIke you said it's expensive. I haven't done to a dentist for 2 years now. Last year I wanted to go and it was going to cost me 700 just for a cleaning, I had no cavities or nothing else wrong.

Dental work is expensive.... I have so much respect for my parents investing in my mouth when I was younger.  2 oral surgeries and braces.  Currently my teeth aren't insured so I'm being diligent with care.  Both my parents had strong teeth.  I am blessed.  Soon I will be jumping on health, optical and dental insurance through my place of employment.  No excuses at that point.

I go twice a year.  For tooth pain try a clove of garlic and also clove oil.

I am very sorry to hear about your tooth and jaw pain. I know from experience how awful that is. I do go to the dentist bi-annually every year whether I have insurance or not because I always need some sort of work done in addition to cleanings. My kids, on the other hand, are in their 30's and have never had a cavity. Just goes to show how much improvement in dentistry there has been in the last two generations.

Yes, I do even with insurance they can still be expensive. Sometimes if you have a local college with a dental program you might be able to get service by students  studying to enter the dental profession; they are supervised by dentists and the cost is generally none or very minimun,  that might be an option if you live near one.

I haven't been to a dentist in...getting close 20 years.  The only way I can imagine going is if it to a special type of healthy/natural dentist.  I have zero intention of every going to a regular one.  Did you know that fluoride is a carcinogen?  No thank you

I go to the dentist every six month. Generally, I dont have massive tooth pain that requires an emergency visit.

For tooth and jaw pain I increase my calcium.  Calcium is a tranquilizer and a natural pain reliever.

I also visit the Dentist once a year.  If I have a cavity I'll spend money to have it fixed but other than that - I use supplements for pain and to avoid gum infections.

Have a great day!
