I don't usually bother with garage sales, once in a blue moon you find something cool but mostly people only ever sell the same junk you threw out 5 years ago.

Or the same junk they did not sell last year. haha  I use to go to yard sales but don't much any more.  Sometimes you can get a good deal but you got to be there when they are putting it out.  At least where I live.  We had a yard sale about 12 years ago and people were at the door before my cousins and I even got up.  I am like "really" ????

I use to set up at flea markets years ago.  I started going to yard sales to get things to sell.  Hope everyone has a good day and may God bless each of you and keep you safe. :)

Do you have to pay taxes on what you sale there?  Or pay for your space?  There is a flea market in a neighboring town and they have started doing something where you pay tax on what you sale.  But there are people who are basically running a business because they are there every day.

Garage sales are the best way to get rid of all the junk stuff you just keep around.  Best way to start over.

Our small town has a policy now where some people  who were making a living out of have garage sales every week will have to get permits and pay taxes on items them sell if they  do it more then 4 times a year.  Part of the reasoning behind it is  if it is more then the allotted  amount of times they can sell it is now considered a business.  the permits don't cost anything and if you only  do it  in the time span you don't pay taxes.  We go once in a while  but rarely buy it is just to get out of the house and visit sometimes.

Those big garage sales sound like a lot of fun!  In the summer there are garage sales around my neighborhood every weekend, but are usually small. If I come across one I'll often stop and look. You never know what you might find.

I didn't get out to do any shopping during the garage sales, but on my way home from work I spotted a deal.  The seller had a bicycle and a patio umbrella set out by his tree.  Boom, $20 and I had two nice items I needed.
