When the neighbor's garden is ready to harvest, wait until they're not home...and make it look like rabbits did it....   ;D

I put a lot of work in my garden and I will share but only with people.  My garden is in buckets on my patio and I haven't had any hacks so far.

Don't water lavender and rosemary too much.  They are at their best in their home environment, the sunny, rocky Mediterranean.  They like sandy, gritty soil and LOTS of direct sun.

No, but I am ready to plant my flowers.  I planted some Perennials last week and I planted other flowers-Annuals, but I can't put them in the ground.

Make your own compost if you have the room, plants love it and it'll save you ~$10 a bag at home depot. Just toss your kitchen veggie scraps in a pile with dead leaves, grass clippings etc. Mix it up and hose it down every so often and in a few months you'll have a heap of the best soil conditioner / mulch for free.

Also depends what you've got planted/how, but a soaker hose can be a great investment. Just lay it at the base of your plants and all you have to do is go out and turn on a spigot, instead of standing there watering. Water applied in a long, slow drip right at the roots is pretty much always better than a regular hose's brief, forceful watering from the top.

A long time ago, we used to have a half acre garden, then it started shrinking until it's now a couple raised beds no larger than 4x4.  The year before my problem, i had planted sage, oregano, Italian parsley, and something else in the perennial plot and parsley, dill, and basil in the annual plot.  I can't do it anymore. It's too low for me. The sage is still going strong and it took 2 years for the oregano to really start but it's doing good now. Too bad I can't get down to harvest any.

A couple years Hubby did container gardening tomatoes, peppers, potatoes, and carrots ...until momma rabbit decided to have her kids among the carrots. Oh, well....we used to experiment all the time. Then he only planted wax beans and tomatoes in the beds. We do get grape tomatoes every year from those that fall to the ground in the fall.

Now he waits for his son to bring a couple tomato and pepper plants....can't understand why the peppers are always jalepeno or Scotch Bonnets.  I miss the beans, broccoli, brussel sprouts, green, red, and yellow peppers, Hungarian wax peppers (for pickling and using on steak sandwiches and subs),potatoes, corn, the 10 different tomatoes, etc. Now we grow weeds. :)

Yeah.  Buy it at the store.  I had planted a bunch of stuff and almost all of it was destroyed weekend before last when it came a horrible bad storm.
