Oatmeal Raisin Cookies
« on: September 15, 2009, 02:43:37 am »
My husband insists everyone hates oatmeal raisin cookies, I happen to love them. What's everyone's opinion?

Oatmeal Raisin cookies are very underrated.  They are as underrated as carrot cake and pumpkin bread.  Love them all.

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies are good for you. I had a Cookie Biz years ago and they were my #2 best seller. A good tip if you bake your own: coat your raisins in a cinnamon/sugar mixture before you add them to the dough, adds so much more flavor.

Thanks for the tip.  I'll try that next time for sure

Oatmeal raisin is actually one of my top favorites. I love when they are baked from home and when you cool them just slightly where they are still warm. It is really good I actually am not a big fan of chocolate so chocolate chip is not one of my favorites like most people but you can't go wrong with oatmeal

I love them but my husband hates them.  I used to make them for my dad when I was a kid and won a blue ribbon for them at the CA State Fair.  Make sure you use juicy (fresh) raisins.  If they are too dry, soak them for about 5 min. in hot water then drain before adding them.  Keeps the cookies more moist.

I sometimes use that recipe and add chocolate chips and cranberries...uumm.
