Name change Hi, I have almost $40 in my account .......,
« on: April 14, 2017, 07:32:57 am »
.... when I went to cash out, I received an email from Fision Cash stating I need to show proof of my name change through a court order. I have my driver's license, but there is no court order. I'm gay and got married. I'm real upset bc I feel like I'm being discriminated against bc of my sexual orientation. If I were a woman who changed her name through marriage, no one would blink an eye. Please help. I've easily spent 20 hours on this site doing these surveys. I want to be paid on principle.

Did you legally change your name? I don't understand why fusion would ask for a court order unless you changed your name after you signed up. Did you put in a ticket? Submit a ticket and let us know how you made out. Hope all goes well for you. :)

My name changed through marriage. No court order!! I'll let you know. In the meantime, I'm not using the site.

You're not being discriminated against. A woman that married a man would have to provide the same proof of legal change of name just like if someone was divorced and went back to their old name.  If there is anything drastic change in name more than going from a nickname to the real name (Billy to William for example) then they require proof of identity .They have to ensure that a real person is getting paid and your name on the site matches the name on the Paypal or bank account the money is going to.

Everyone wants to think they're being "discriminated against" these days. ::) Would you rather someone have stolen your wallet and computer log in and change your stuff to pay out to them? No, so grow up and accept that a drastic change of name (and possibly address) would be VERY just cause for double and triple checks when money is being exchanged for "work".

Straight privilege showing. The issue is NOT that my name changed. The issue is that I'm being asked to show a court order when there is none. I worked hard for my $40 and expect to be paid.

While this may not be the most pleasant way of expressing this, its true. FushionCash wants to make sure that the money they pay is going to the person who owns the account. This has absolutely nothing to do with your sexual orientation. FusionCash is trying to protect you and other users from fraud.

There is no straight privilege. There are posts from other people that have changed their name because of marriage and were asked for a court order to show that it was a legal name change and you're still the same person. There has to be some sort of court records if you legally changed your name.

I've had to prove my identity in order to be paid but I guess that doesn't fit your narrative of straight privilege and being discriminated against

Then please explain to me the "court order" I should show to prove my identity. I have my driver's license. It's enough to fly on an airplane, but is it enough for Fusion Cash? Lol

What about a marriage license? Having never been married, I don't know what documents other people on here have had to provide, but maybe, instead of starting out with a "victim complex", you could ask for advice from women and others who've changed their names and then had to provide that proof to FC.

It's NOT because you're gay, so stop right there.  FC requires the "court documents" from whoever has a name change.  It has absolutely nothing to do with whether you're gay or not.  I don't understand why everything with gay people has to be this way.

They are conditioned by the media to act like that. Obviously FC doesn't care what a person's orientation is, they just have to make sure it really is the same person, male, female or whatever. How are they supposed to know that "Brian Smith" who says he changed his name to "Brian Jones," didn't just steal Mr. Jones's license? Or vice versa?

I don't think you're being discriminated against because they require it from everyone who submits a name change. The reason they are asking for your license and a court order as proof that your named changed. Fusion Cash isn't the only site that requires this, I know a bunch of other sites who require to show proof if you changed your name. They are doing it to make sure you are who say you are :)

You know a court record like you had to show the dmv for you to get a license in another name. A driver's license would be sufficient proof of identity for the site if you hadn't changed your name.

If I got married and changed my name I know I would need to provide a copy of my marriage license just like I would have to provide it to various other entities to show why I went from one name from another.  Women have to do it every day

You seem to think you're above the rules and would rather think you're a victim that's being discriminated against.

I don't know where my marriage license is, and it does NOT say on the marriage license that my name changed anyway. That is only for heterosexual couples. This is discrimination, but you have to be gay to understand it. Not a surprise --a bunch of privileged straight people. Notice that no one in my discussion answered the question. I emailed Fusion Cash over a week ago and haven't gotten a response from them either. I'm going to file a complaint with the BBB.
