It's definitely not a choice. Scientists have proven that it isn't. They've proven that gay men have brains shaped like straight women and gay women like straight men. They're just not sure if it's genetic or something that happens while the child is in the womb or what.

If you don't believe me, then just look it up.

Why would anyone choose to be something that is hated? Why would people over in other countries choose to be gay, knowing that people will kill them over it? I don't understand why anyone would think for a second that it is a choice.

what if a guy or a girl, that has been living a hetrosexual life, one day-art the age of 21, decides to sleep w/ the same sex and finds out that they like it? Choice or not? I think choice. What about bi-sexuals? They hace chosen to sleep w/ the same as well as opposite sex.  CHOICE, right?

Gay people live as hetero's all the time until something happens where they realize that they're gay or bisexual. I'm 25 & realized only at the age of 23 that I was a lesbian. It's def not by choice. It's who I am. I can't change that.

But there are people who sleep with the same sex just to do it & not for the emotions...mostly girls!!

& there are plenty of gay people who think they were born gay. It's different for everyone.

You started this thread to get peoples points of view but then you are nitpicking everything they are giving their opinion on. You shouldnt start a conversation if you dont like what people have to say. ::)

:( My opinion : They are not born that way...they are made and it is their own choice, confused choice. It is related to life experiences!

metro, what an ignorant post. :bs: It's not a choice. You're obviously not gay so you know NOTHING about the matter. I'm very shy, & not open & I didn't choose to be something that sometimes I feel ashamed to be because I'm scared of how ignorant people can be. I don't choose to be something that I have to hide from most family members because of their beliefs. If it were a choice, NO ONE would be gay.  ::)

Wow, I sure am glad that I "chose" to be straight! I'm always amazed by the ignorance people show about subjects like this.

Believing that people are gay by choice is NOT ignorant. If it's what someone chooses to believe, then by all means, they have EVERY right to believe it. Because JUST like an opinion, a belief can be neither right nor wrong, as technically, a belief is nothing more than an opinion. To call someone ignorant because of their beliefs or opinions is, well, ignorant.

Now as far as whether or not I believe gay people are gay by choice or by birth... Honestly, I don't care. It's not my life, not my problem. It's theirs. So as long as it doesn't affect me, they can be what they want, regardless of if it's choice or birth.

My whole point is, someone giving an opinion on a subject they know nothing about.

I'm a girl & that's like me having an opinion on what it's like to be a boy :dontknow:

I think you are born that way.  Sure there are some people that may want to experiment and see what it's like but for the most part I think it's just how you are from birth.
