Actually I had good knowledge of biology and it is a mixture of genetics and environment. Although it may not necessarily run in a family certain genetic traits like homosexuality can be triggered by a person's environment. The choice comes from this natural instinct.

I am not educated enough to answer this question with a million scientific facts but I have a lot of homosexual friends and the reasons vary that's for sure.  Some say they were born with these tendencies, others have experimented a little, and a couple just can't make up their minds as to which gender they prefer.  All relationships are based on whether or not a person is getting what they need, whether it be physical or emotional.
