Do you use batteries?
« on: March 12, 2017, 10:34:55 am »
I try not to buy batteries, they are getting expensive here. Are they expensive where you are at? When the kids were small I got them toy that needed batteries not anymore. Do you keep them in a dark place, or a plastic bag with no oxygen or the freezer for long shelf life? Have a gr8 day  :present:

I've never heard of keeping then in a freezer.  Does that really work?  Do they have to warm up to room temperature before use?  We just keep ours in a drawer usually - just right in the regular packaging.

We go through quite a few - usually in games or wireless game controllers.

I unknowingly collected batteries over the years, so it has been a while since I actually purchased them.

I buy the cheaper batteries at the dollar store but better ones for our smoke detectors and keep them in my refrigerator.  Not sure it prolongs the live of them or not.  But it doesn't hurt them.

I use batteries for my air freshener, and other little electronic things I use. I usually get the $1

I used to buy the rechargeable batteries but they run out of power much more quicker than the regular batteries.

We don't have little children around but still need batteries for several things - mainly the three tv remotes, dvr and roku remotes and the Wii. We buy the larger containers at BJs and jeep tgem in a cabinet.

I buy rechargeable batteries. If you are going to invest in batteries, then I think that is the best way to go. ;)

we go through a ton of batteries because of my husband's work radio.  can't let them die out.  never heard of putting them in the freezer though, wonder if it works to make them last longer?

Have you ever tried rechargeable? It's a necessity to have batteries for things such as the laptop mouse and remotes. It is expensive though. Have you ever tried to look online through Amazon and other stores?

I use batteries but only buy them whenever I need new ones. I buy them on Amazon and since I have Amazon Prime they arrive in a few days. Very convenient  :)
