Have not planned a vacation for this year.  Probably just do day trips around the area.  Leave near Chicago and there many things we have never seen.

No vacation for me. I really don't believe in taking time off to go to places. Such a bad use of time and money.

I am going to Florida at the end of May to visit my mother and to attend my brother's high school graduation ceremony but that's the only vacation I'm going on this year :)

Yes, I am planning on going to Iceland with my daughter and her husband this year. I can't wait - it is supposed to
have spectacular natural beauty and lots of stuff to do there.

If I get to retire this year I want to go on a cruise sometime soon.  I have always wanted to go.  Hope everyone has a good day and may God bless each of you and keep you safe. :)

Yes, I have plans already. Early traveling is the best to avoid
unwanted crowds.

I have one trip planned for a four day concert and three trips planned to visit my parents in Arizona. They are getting on in years and their health and mental acuity are beginning to dwindle. They rarely get out of their house with most of their time spent watching our biased media. I will be visiting them this month and want to begin dropping hints related to moving into a senior complex near us in Colorado, having a nurse come to visit them once every other day or so, or having them move in with us. We have enough room to convert a room on our first floor into a bedroom and another into a full bath. Additionally our youngest will be moving out in August as he will be going to an out of state college. Our oldest has an internship out of state and then heads to a house in college (forty minutes away).

That sounds like the best idea for financial and emotional security for your parents (if they will accept it). We are currently looking for a suitable home large enough for us and our youngest son's family for many of the same reasons. A couple of weeks ago I had to have the Ambulance take me to the ER and be admitted to the Hospital because I couldn't get up off the floor. I am OK now, but it is an indication that it may be time for a change.

Not really; it's necessary to unwind your mind every once in a while to maintain mental health.  Also, traveling gives you experiences you can look back on one day.

No vacation for me. I really don't believe in taking time off to go to places. Such a bad use of time and money.

In my opinion, that is only true if you don't have enough time or money to travel without worrying what else you should be paying or spending time on. Thanks to the Internet, it is quite possible to have free money for more travel during retirement, when there is amble time at hand.

I think your travel plan is a great idea but this year I will be going to Iceland with my daughter and her husband. They are taking me along on their annual vacation as a birthday present to me. Some birthday present, huh? I can't wait!

I am planning on going on a family cruise to the Bahamas towards the end of the year. I am planning on making our reservations soon. Wish I could go somewhere for the summer too.
