Well, I own a GoPro, and my Tacoma has a standard GoPro mount... so technically, I have a dash cam (well, it's more of a top of the windshield cam), but I've never used it. A friend of mine in the UK drives a Vespa and mounts a cam to his scooter for "evidence" in case of a traffic incident. Personally, I think he's a bit obsessed with the possibility of getting screwed over in a traffic incident.  ;)

My Phone has one. The app has navigation head up display and dash cam recording. I don't use it but I might if I am on a trip or in an unfamiliar place, pending I get a suction windshield attachment.

In your situation I don't know what I would have done.  But the point still remains if you hit a parked car it is your fault.  And the dash cam would not have made a difference.  The hitting the parked car would still be your fault.  All a dash cam might have proved was the bus driver was being reckless.

LOL. I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree.   But reckless bus drivers aside, after all of the back and forth, countrygirl, I am still interested in your opinion of having a dash cam itself!  I suppose you sort of answered above in a way, but would YOU choose to have one YOURSELF if given the opportunity?

I have a camera for when I back up. It really helps when you are in the city and trying to park.

I agree! My wife's car has a backup camera, which is VERY handy. We are a two car family.  For normal daily commutes, she drives her car and I drive mine.  On evening and weekend family drives/errands we use her car, which I often drive. I really like having the backup camera and wish my car had one. (Wife's car also has the heated seats and working air conditioning - neither of which I have!)

I saw a 2 camera system online which includes both a dash camera and a rear view camera, but the steps necessary to hard wire the power cables and install the back up camera to a suitable spot were more than I felt comfortable doing myself.
