When we got our puppy, well when he was a puppy, in 2013 he came with a blue blanket with the scent of his mom on it. He slept with it for a bit but then he was ok without it. None of our dogs have really taken to a blanket or sleeping with a specific item.

Bunches my dog has many hand made blankets and homemade rug rugs for the seats in the truck. Bunches is spoiled and is my whole world I would go without before she would have to.  I have had her 5 years and we have never been apart, i take her every were and if shes not welcome i won't go.

I have a parrot and he has his own blanket that I cover his cage with at night.  My Goldfish are not that fond of blankets.

They do and they get angry when the blankets get taken away to get washed.

Oh yes, our cats not only have their blankies but pillows, sheets, chairs, couches, beds, tables...   :cat:  :cat:

They pretty much own everything but that is more than O.K. with me.  In fact, I don't think I'd have it any other way.  Compared to what they give me in return, it's the very least I can give them.  :)

And, no, I don't have an out of control house; we co-exist just fine.

I remember as I grew up, cats that lived with my family and me enjoyed lying on anything soft, and that included blankets.

Yes she does. When we took our granddaughters to Disneyworld I bought her a Disney blanket. She loves it.

Sort of. When my dog sleeps on the couch there is a certain throw blanket she likes to lay on. Come night time though she is right in the bed with us under our blankets. Lol.

My dog and both cats own their own blankets though they tend to 'share' each others.
