years ago, there was a huge march for peace in Chicago.
Even religious groups were marching [ nuns and priests].
What I discovered later was that the march for peace was supporting the communist side.
People don't recognize the truth, no matter how plain and simple it is.
The disguise for the lies, on the other hand, is  usually very clever.
You have to ask yourself "who is provoking this?"
there are layers and layers of people in authority above.

Protesting these days is ridiculous because 9 out of 10 people  doing the darn protesting don't even KNOW what they're PROTESTING ABOUT!!

I'll second this ....  Protesting to get in the paper or on the news.... I'll hold up a huge sign That reads    "GO HOME"

I would in no way get out and protect.  I do not want to look like a complete fool.  I have a JOB to go to 5 days a week.  If you have time to protect, you have time to help other people in need.  Do something that will make someone life a bit better.  I wonder if all the people that protect have jobs and if they do how do they swing it being out of work.  I am a Christian and praying about things is my way of handling things.  Hope everyone have a good day and may God bless each of you and keep you safe. :angel11:

Like many other commenters, I will be working that day and cannot "go on strike". But if I were to offer my time and energy to a national protest, I think it would be to protest so many damn protestors about every single political and social issue under the sun.

To touch on the point of an earlier commenter, would protesting protests be along the same lines of being intolerant of intolerance?

I'm not sure why everyone gets so upset when people want to protest.  I agree, there is a difference between rioting and peacefully protesting.   Protesting is a way of showing you're not happy.  Yes, it might just be to vent but we're allowed to protest in this country. Protests can make a difference.  And for those of you who say we're just not happy with Donald Trump and we need to get over it and give him a chance.   No, I am not happy Donald Trump won.  I have a different set of values than he does.  I want the environment taken care of, I want an increase in the minimum wage.  I don't want a wall built.  I am not in favor of putting all billionaires in charge of departments.

I respect those who voted for him and have the same goals as he does, all I ask is the same respect in return.  Everyone has a right to their opinion without calling other out who might not have the same concerns.   I am retired, I am terrified about my Social Security and medicare.  I have worked constantly for more than 40 years.  I paid into Social Security my entire life.  It is not an entitlement program, it is my money.   The benefits that our politicians receive are more of an entitlement than my SS and medicare.   How many of you get your salary for life?   They do.

I think these folks need a good day job. The constant protesting and screaming and threatening makes people want to turn away and change the channel.

So many folks don't know what they are protesting specifically when interviewed.

Massive temper tantrum when you lose.

Absolutely not. Everyone should back our Pres Trump. The real question is why the other countries are letting their countrymen starve, travel very far away to earn money not for themselves but the whole family back home what is that. The world would be so cool if they would put their own spin on education, being healthy, and entertainment. Wouldn't you rather have the flying cars instead of wanting to blowup everything for some reason. I heard along the way wasn't we as humans, suppose to not mind being over crowded, people like each other when they're are a lot of people we would have more businesses and entertainment, and more understanding, not the lack of space, food or money or intelligence but everyone is grabby.  :cat:   WAKEUP  :peace:

lol.  What are the idiots protesting now?  These people need to get jobs and they would not have time to protest.

NANCY5- You are correct, the idiots in this country are making our entire country look like a bunch of idiots.

The people who voted for Trump are so busy working to support all of those who are not working, and those not working are the ones causing the most trouble. We didn't  protest when Obama  came into power, nope gave him a chance and now when Trump is  trying to do the same thing with the banning of the  other countries coming here people are kicking him in the teeth. Obama  did it no problem, nothing said. Hate to say it, But Obama i partly behind this now.

SS/Medicare aren't going away. People working and paying into the system now are the ones that might not see anything when they retire. That's why there is push to reform the system so that it can be sustainable long-term.

A lot of people like protesting, no matter what the issue may be.  I am not one of those people.

I never heard about the national protest day. I'd protest against Trump on his anti-net neutrality views.
