The boy scouts are excepting transgender boys to be boy scouts. I think it means girls who want to be boys . Can't understand how a small child can think they want to be the other sex. I'm more confused  and maybe they should wait until they're older.

Some times i wonder if a part of this problem is the parents wanted a boy/girl so bad thatthey tend to treat the child that way. My gosh i was such a tom boy when i was small and some people would tell my parents i acted more like a boy then a girl. Mom would just  say that is ok she will grow out of it. And for the most part i did, i never wanted to be a boy, i just wanted to play and almost all of the kids in the neighbor hood were boys. except for my prissy little sister. and all she wanted to do is  play with her dolls.  Children should have to  grow up with the sex God gave them. Then if and when they might want to change then so be it.

We need to be open minded and compassionate about these things....

especially if we've never walked in the shoes of the other person.  Some people know that something is seriously wrong.  Sexual orientation and gender identity are two different things.

Some people know they're a thin and healthy person living in a fat person's body.  That issue can haunt them 24/7 and it's similar with gender identity.  If an individual is born with female genitals and goes through life thinking and feeling like a boy - they deal with an overwhelming inner conflict until that issue is resolved.  There's more involved in gender than what a person is hiding in their pants.

I understand the boy scouts now recognize gender on the application; instead of, going by the gender shown on the birth certificate.  I respect the change that's taking place so people can feel at peace with who they really are.

I once saw a [dysfunctional] family on TV (it may have been Dr. Phil) where a small child's parents were divorced and they had joint custody.  I think biologically it was a girl, but I can't remember for sure.  Dad treated her and dressed her like a girl when she was with him; mom treated him and dressed him like a boy when he was with her.  The kid played both roles and told each parent what s/he thought they wanted to hear when asked if s/he was a boy or a girl.

There is no way you can convince me that this child consciously knew or chose to be transgender at such a young age. He/She was just a really confused child who was obviously going to grow up with some severe issues somewhere down the road.

Shame on those parents for putting him/her through that because they viciously fought with each other over it.

I'm not sure if there should be a boy scouts  any more ...  how do you deal with the camps and bunk houses and shower rooms... have to rebuild a camp ??  If ones brain isn't  developed till your 21 as they claim in court cases when a kid murders his parents and gets off with a reduced deal because of it and the records get sealed because its a kid.  I,m just saying this is a can of worms that could change not only the scouts but how courts are forced to deal with kids.  And if its really a girl that wants to be a boy..... holy crap !! I'd never,  just like sending a  woman (guy) to a male prison .. People need to think !  So the girl ( BOY) gets raped  then what ?  I sure wouldn't send my kids .. thats a mess ready to happen!

I don't understand it myself either but I try to have an open mind.  It's just that I always thought boy scouts were for BOYS not girls.

In other words the BOY SCOUTS are now accepting girls.  This is wrong on so many levels.  GIRLS need to join GIRL SCOUTS.  I would say this world can't get any more screwed up but every time I say that something like this happens to prove me wrong.

God does NOT make mistakes.  You are not born in the wrong body.  You are a boy or you are a girl.  If  girl wants to join the scouts then she needs to join the girl scouts.  And no, we do not need to be open minded or understanding toward sin.

Seems like I remember hearing this.  The kid was screwed up because of the parents.  And the parents WILL pay for what they have done.

I can't judge.  I can only imagine what people go through who are transgender.  "Walk a mile in my shoes....."

We have officials in the NBA and NFL that are woman. Is this the same thing? Can a girl wanna be in the boy scouts without being gay?

She just might want to do guy things but i would think the parents should use discernment cos it can open Pandoras box <no pun intended>and persuade her to join girl scouts.

With same sex marriages being allowed now this is a no brainer to those that support that. You wouldnt go buy gasoline for an arsonist.I dont have a daughter...i have a granddaughter and i would voice my concern of why i dont think its a good idea with heartbreak around the corner to test it.

If a person is born with a bad temper does that make it acceptable? NO ... I think they should make it law that woman can nurse their babys in public  or make them a room ...  why not a room for every thing~   :glasses-nerdy: :glasses-nerdy: :glasses-nerdy:
