Punxsutawney Phil
« on: February 01, 2017, 12:39:35 pm »
Can we please all hope he DOES not see his shadow tomorrow and we can have an early Spring?  If you don't know what I'm talking about there is a groundhog named Punxsutawney Phil (who lives in Punxsutawney PA), how surprising,  who comes out of the ground on Feb 2.  Folklore has it that if he SEES his shadow 6 more weeks of winter, if he DOES NOT see it, an early spring.

This isnt folklore.Global warming from mankind polluting the earth is very real.He will never fix it...just make it worse.

But we can have faith in a Creator who will NOT let mankind destroy HIS creation and intervene soon!

Groundhogs and the rest of the animal world will benefit too when that comes to pass.

I am in Florida, so I desperately want 6 more weeks of summer! Otherwise the summer is longer and still unbearable.

That always reminds me of when I had to consecutively say Punxsutawney twice without giggling back on Groundhog Day in 1995.

Yes, I agree!, hope he does not see so that we can be done with winter; even though this has been a much milder winter then in the pass but we can generally get some really bad snow in our area during February, so let's hope!

I'm ready for Spring, just not the hot summer like we had last year. May cloud cover prevent the lil guy from seeing his shadow tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

Oh yes, Ground Hog Day.  What a funny and odd tradition......

I don't like the cold of winter time, but I do like the 4 distinct seasons.

It seems to me that mid March (which is about 6 weeks from 2/2/) is about the time that winter really loses it's punch no matter what Punxsutawney Phil sees or doesn't see on February 2.

I rather enjoy a March snow.....it is great to build snow creatures with the kids or grandkids.....the snow is wet and the temperatures are mild enough that I don't mind spending hours building something.

I would like more rain, but mild temperatures.

Well he saw his shadow, 6 more weeks of winter.  If the next 6 weeks are like this winter has been, it's no problem.  We have had a mild winter with one slight dusting of snow.

Well here is hoping you guys in "cold" country get an early Spring.......... it is too cold for me even here in Florida.  I know it isn't anything compared to anyone living where there is snow and ice but I just don't like being cold.  Cold damp weather makes it even harder for me to get around and I have had a cold/sinus problems for weeks which I am definitely sick of ..... we here is hoping for warmer weather for ALL of us.

I cannot believe people believe this.  The ground hog has no effect on the weather.  And FYI it is 6 weeks until spring.  No matter if he sees it or not.  And depending on where you stand you will or will not see your shadow unless it is cloudy.

And what a glorious day that will be for sure.  The truth really does indeed set one free when we see all that is going on in this messed up world.

Without a doubt, these are the last days that are soon to end.  The Kingdom hope that is promised will be a welcomed change.

Nobody mentioned the movie, Groundhog Day, with Bill Murray. What a fabulous movie. So funny!  :D
