Albert Fiennes stars as Michael Jackson.
Stockard Channing looks similar to Elizabeth Taylor.
She plays the role well.
In an interview in the '90's, Michael Jackson had said that he was proud of being Black, in spite of the disease.
He did have a skin pigment disease.
If a Black actor played the role, he would have a more difficult time with makeup.

They can do plenty with makeup these days, age you, change your color,  change your gender and etc.  Technology has seen to that.

I think it's an interesting choice, he's a fine actor.   I read where it's a British show, not American.... they are not so hung up on black / white like here in America.     & even here, look at the play "Hamilton" on Broadway - our founding fathers are all played by minorities... they had a public "No Whites Need Apply Casting Call".   The world is changing. 

For the Harry Potter Movies, they only hired British actors... can you imagine the outrage here in America if a movie said only American actors?  Does that happen here?  I don't think so.

I haven't seen this advertised yet. I always liked MJ and love the song Thriller too. I think this is something I would like to see.

It's not even a movie.
It was/is a 1/2 hour tv show about Urban Legends.  The story is about Michael Jackson, Elizabeth Taylor, and Marlon Brando going on a car trip from New York to Los Angeles after 9-11.   It was just going to be a dramatization reenactment.     The UK pulled the episode due to Paris Jackson's reaction.... according to the news on Bing.

So none of us will see it.

I love his music,,,,, was not real crazy about him in his later years.  will I watch this new movie coming out ??   Don't really know.  i might wait and see what everyone else thinks about it before I watch it,,,

I heard yesterday they cancelled that episode. Michael's daughter, Paris, wasn't very happy about it. Which really you can't blame her, it's her dad. I did seem him in the make up, thought it was an interesting choice.
