Grocery store memberships
« on: December 11, 2016, 08:51:01 am »
Do you have a membership at a store? I use to have one at Sams club when it was $25.00 to join. I am thinking about getting a Costco membership before the price changes again.

Do you have a Costco membership and if so are the benefits pretty good?

We have a Costco membership.   We don't really take advantage of it as much as others.  There are just two of us in our household and we have a small home so we don't buy a lot in bulk.   I still enjoy having the membership and do feel it's worth it.

I do have one at Lucky where you get points and then can turn the points into money off like 5.00 off your bill or as much as 15.00.Raleys does the same and Safeway has it towards gas. Then CVS has register rewards . Sometimes CVS if its not on sale it can be expensive  so i have to watch out. I wish walmart would have something.

I have both a Sam's Club & a Costco.

Sam's Club pretty much has the same items year round.
Costco seems to have more variance on gift items.  Costco pays their employees excellent wages & is rated a top company to work for.    I like both.

They both have cheap gas.
Sam's Club membership sometimes is really discounted on Groupon, with free food vouchers as a bonus.

I did the Groupon for Sam's a while ago. It was really worth the initial cost because of the freebies they gave. :highfive:

Yes, I have a Costco membership - I received it for free for work, otherwise I wouldn't have it since I really don't buy that much in bulk - I definitely see the value in it though!

Our Costco just opened 4 months ago.  Membership was $50.00 for 2 people for 1 year.  You got coupons for free AA battery pack (72 count), chicken stock (4 boxes), and case of water.  You also got a $25.00 Costco gift card.  Too good of a value to pass up.

No, I just go to a really fabulous grocery store.

Don't need a  free member card.

Don't need a membership.

Save a bundle there every month, and grateful.

I have BJ's and Costco but not going to renew Costco because it's not so close to my house that I will go there often.  BJ's is close to me.  I only go there for gas.  My brother convinced me to do Costco because he loves it.

Do not have any for club stores because they are not that close to home.  Have the local ones like Walgreens, pet stores, etc.

Years ago I piggy backed my then In-laws and had a guest account under them through Sams.  I only went to the store a handful of times.  It was a good 30-40 min. away from my house so it really didn't pay.   I don't think I'll ever get a membership again.  Unless this bakery gig I'm starting really goes big...then I may get supplies through em' in the mean time my local stores and employee discount are enough for my needs.
