Very sad. He was the first astronaut to orbit the earth three times. He was a hero to a lot of people.

95 years old.  What an accomplished man he was.  Other than him being an astronaut I didn't know much more about him.  In fact I had to do a Bing search to confirm he was indeed the same man I was thinking.  Prayers for his family.

I live in Ohio.  Not far from John Glens Home town or from where he has lived for the last few years.  Have met him once a long time ago.  What a Great Man. Seen him in many parades here in Ohio.  He would stop and talk to everyone when he was home.  Loved to talk and get to know his neighbors     He was one of the best !!!   RIP  Mr. Glen  you will be missed

I read it in a full page spread in the Washington Post.  Very sad.  America did loose a true hero.  He at least lived a long and full life.
