Christmas season
« on: December 06, 2016, 07:50:39 am »
To children, Santa is the focus.
To one who is older, a teen, young adult and adult, Jesus Christ is the focus.
It is the time of Chanukah for the Jews.
Santa is a legend derived from St Nicholas [4th century] day and the stockings.
Some countries have given him different names.
These are three subsets of the season.

Yes it is the Christmas Season,,,,   Again.   I'm not a "Bah Humbug"  but i can't wait for it to be over.  They start the Season in September and by December I'm tired of it and just want it to be over.  I don't like to shop,,,  I have no little ones to buy for my mom and dad are both in Heaven so I really just don't enjoy it anymore.   But I do put a tree up and lights on the house and the yard. I really try to "enjoy" the season. But can just not start the nonsense in September !!!!!

Being a non religious person Christmas to me & my family is the end of the year coming together before the new year, enjoying family & friends. Laughing, eating, watching the kids devour in presents & telling stories about one another.
Above all Christmas is love of family & friends to my household.

It's not the season I hate but the stress that goes with it. There is nothing enjoyable about anything that leads up to Christmas because it's always a fast-paced situation.

I LOVE Christmas & most everything about it.....except for the cold & snow.  I love the Christmas lights outside, & the decorated tree inside, and Christmas music.  It wouldn't feel like Christmas to me without the snow but, I really DREAD every winter.  (On the bright side, once Christmas is over....Easter stuff will be in the stores!! YAAY Spring!!)   :rose:

I agree with SherylsShado, I love Christmas and everything about it.  Call me a really big kid, but I get so in to it.  I may be exhausted after hauling out all the Christmas stuff and putting it all up, after cooking all the goodies we make every year, but I've got a brand new Grandson now, so my Christmas spirit is even higher!  I even made my Grandson a Christmas stocking, as I made all of my kids, nieces and nephews in the years before him.  To me, this is the best time of the year because it brings back memories of all the family I've loved and lost, and now, new memories we'll be making with a brand new "little one" in the family.

I consider myself a Christian and Christmas is all about the birth of Jesus for me.  That's one reason why I refuse to get "wrapped up" in the material aspect of the holiday.

Pun intended.
Have a great day!

I love Christmas, it's my favorite time of the year! As I get older, I have different reasons for enjoying it, compared to when I was younger, but my love for the season has never changed.

The Christmas season seems to make people a little nicer because Christmas is a timer of cheer, connecting with family and friends.  I loved Christmas as a child...all the toys, food and parents.
