[quote Jill Stein is not a democrat, so why are they sore losers? I am so tired of all the name calling that has surrounded this election. With over 17 US government agencies finding interference by the Russian government I feel like we do need to look into this election to see what happened and how to prevent another government from doing anything like that again.
The Electoral College issue should be looked at, it is not right that if you live in a state with a high population your vote only counts as 1/3 to a 1/2 vote. This is the 2nd time in the last few years where the popular vote did not matter. It is a shame and will cause people not to bother to vote, because it doesn't matter anyway. Every vote SHOULD COUNT EQUALLY!!

I beg to differ. The Electors are VOTED on by the parties themselves. They are chosen during the conventions of each party. Electors are supposed to cast their vote for the candidate that won the state. IOW, Cali's electors went for Hillary because the people of that state voted for her, and the voters of MI went for Trump so those electors cast their vote for him. This is part of the Constitution in Article II, Section 1.
Hamilton felt the system of an electoral college ensured that “the sense of the people” will play a key role in selecting the president, while, at the same time, affording “as little opportunity as possible to tumult and disorder” and to give ALL territories a voice in choosing their president. Government weakness is based on the will of the people and the reason for the electoral college is to stop mob rule. He felt that electing the president directly would lead to instability and mob rule.
Electors are to vote AS the people of their state voted. To become a "faithless".elector is to go against the voters of that particular district or state that he or she represents. There are 29 states that have a LAW that the electors MUST vote for the will of the people or they can be removed and replaced plus pay a fine. I believe ALL states should have this law. Those faithless electors that wound up going against the will of the people on the 19th didn't vote for Clinton or Trump, even in Washington state that went for Clinton.
The electoral system is fair. Otherwise, we might as well just allow the west coast and part of the east coast elect our president....or maybe just allow the RNC and DNC vote for the president because there would NEVER be another fair election if the electoral college is repealed.
