I'm thinking it in the past and did forget about it.  Now as you mention, I want to have it a try to see if it works.

I have been on Ancestry.com for 6 years now.  I have about 25,000 in my tree and still working on it.  Hope everyone has a good day and may God bless each of you and keep you safe.

Wow, that is absolutely AWESOME!  I've been doing my family tree but because of how my surname has been mangled over the years, I can't get past my Great Grandfather or Grandmother on my Father's side.  It's so frustrating trying to find any information, and without a paid subscription, Ancestry limits the information they will give you.  Of course, there are other places you might find the info, too, which I have used.  I've actually had better luck finding LOTS of information with my Mother's Biological Parents/Siblings than I am with my own family, LOL.  That's not easy, considering the fact that in 1921 all adoption records in the State she was born in are sealed.

My older  half sister has used it. She had never met her father but because of this site she was able to track down some of her family from his side.

My cousin has used it extensively for information on several branches of our family tree.  She has found some really interesting information.  We found out we were eligible for the Daughers of the American Revolution, but our ancestor  was on the British side.  He had nothing to go back to after the war,so he just stayed here.  (I understand that was fairly common, you joined the military because you were not the first born son)  lor]

I thought about taking a gander at that website. But after seeing the fees, I figured, I am not all that concerned about my ancestral background, LOL.

I checked it out, but I didn't find it very useful. You have to put in all your own information, so unless you already know your whole family tree, it doesn't tell you anything. And if you already have that information, what good is it? (Unless I was doing something wrong.)

It helps you find other people or information building on what you already know. For example I knew up to some of my great grandparents. I was able to then find their parents and siblings through census, military and marriage records and keep going back generations. I hit a wall at those born in the early 1800s because records for slaves weren't the most accurate. Other people may have better luck and be able to trace back to other countries and more centuries back

Yes it is legit and if you do the DNA it can lead you to connections that help in your research. You can also learn a lot with a free account at https://familysearch.org/

Ancestry.com doesn't impress me at all.  You are giving them all your personal info.  Not good.  Same  goes for other companies that ask for all your personal info.
