Cold states - do you grill in winter?
« on: November 21, 2016, 06:48:28 am »
I live in PA and we stopped grilling outside for winter.  I know other people who will grill all year, even standing out in the snow.  I have an indoor grill we use for the winter months.

I really enjoy grilled food and may look into getting an indoor grill.  I use a small grill for summer months only.

I am originally from Wisconsin where we saw wind chill factors dip down to seventy degrees below zero. I now live in Colorado which is a little bit warmer. We grill outside year round. I also wear shorts year around and fight to keep the top off of my jeep for as long as I can. I am aiming for February this year. I love the out of doors and hate cleaning up a kitchen messed up by cooking. I refrain from grilling if it is in the middle of a blizzard or pouring rain outside but every other type of weather is pretty much fair game. We also sit outside in front of our fire pit, with a bottle of wine, most of the year barring blizzards and downpours. It is kind of like camping with out the time and financial expense. We even do smores over the fire pit.

No.  Our grill has been put away for the year.  I don't like being outside in the cold any longer than necessary.....BRRR

I was very amused by this post because my deceased hubby would grill year round.  We lived in FL most of the time so no biggie but he grilled the entire two years we were in NC in the snow whatever - lol - our neighbors thought he was crazy but we didn't care.

Yes, but I cheat... I have an indoor electric grill that I use in the winter. Although I do remember my dad wheeling the gas grill next to the sliding glass door on the back deck so that he could sort-of grill outside while still standing inside.

No, I live in VA and I don't think I've ever seen anyone grill in winter.

Winter is too cold to be outside, so we stop grilling soon after the first cold wind hits
