Election Day
« on: November 08, 2016, 07:52:14 am »
I hope everyone is going to vote today. You can at least hold your nose and vote for the candidate with the better policies. I voted early and I would assume some of you did too.  8)

FCers are very patriotic, I'm sure.  :star:

I will be voting later on today.  I'm lucky there are never long lines at my polling place.   But even if there were I would stand in line for the privilege of voting.

a number of my neighbors said that they didn't want to have the TV on today.
There has been so much turmoil the last several months over this election.
It is a pivotal one.

Just got done voting after 30 minutes in line. I'm in PA and they say the all the polling stations are really busy.

I was a bit discouraged with our local polling place.  Polls were supposed to open at 6:30; they unlocked the doors at 6:35 and then took another 10-15 minutes doing final setup before anyone was able to sign in.  They were doing their best to rush along and I know that they are all volunteers, so I cut them some slack.  But if they advertise 6:30, they should be open and begin checking people in AT 6:30.  There just seemed to be some serious disorganization.

I knew that there would be long lines all day, so I decided to go right when they opened up.  Even with the above delays, I think I still probably made out with a short wait.  My wife starts her work day AT 6:30 and planned to vote on the way to work (very close by thankfully) and get to work a few minutes late.  She ended up being over 30 minutes late!

Ohio does offer early voting, but I prefer to fill it out ON Election Day and WATCH my ballot get sucked into the electronic scanning machine. But I would have waited as long as necessary.  We have some uncertain times ahead of us regardless of who the next President is. Let's hope and pray for the best out of either administration!

I always think that this is one of the most exciting days to have the TV on.  I know that your neighbors are likely referring to the non-stop last minute political ads, but later this evening as the returns are coming in and as the congressional and senate races are being called, I will be GLUED to the television.

I voted this morning and it only took a few minutes.  My mom was in the handicapped line in the car and I finished before she ever got her ballot, but we got it done.  Go Vote.

I voted today and didn't have to wait in line. Election volunteers said that voter turn-out was very high.  I went out on a limb, and wore a political button and no one hit me with a baseball bat.  Always grateful the small things in life.
