Hubby and I order dinner from a local diner or this year, we tried the local caterer. It's only 2 of us anymore. The 3 boys have their "women" and ya know how daughters would rather be with their parents, not the in-laws.

We used to have large dinners until my mom died so after that, I lost all holiday enthusiasm for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I don't even decorate anymore and no tree either. last year hubby and I decided to stop giving each other gifts. He says he has everything he ever wanted except a million dollars and what I would want would also be too expensive. We do for the kids and grandkids and that alone costs more than we'd like to spend unless they don't give a list, then they get gift cards.

We usually say to each other what we are grateful for before we eat. But sometimes it takes a longer time because people will be a little bit more emotional and the kids will be like I am starving. That is an old tradition that will never end in my household.
