Cancer Screenings
« on: November 03, 2016, 08:00:55 am »
Have you had a cancer screening lately?  Depending on your gender, age, and family history, you might be at risk for breast, prostate, or colon cancer.  Please make sure you have the appropriate screening for these demographics according to your doctor.  Two people that I know have died from cancer in the last 6 months.  One died from leukemia; the other from undiagnosed Stage 4 kidney cancer.  If something doesn't feel right, especially over a period of time, get it checked out.  Unusual fatigue or pain/discomfort needs to be brought to a doctor's attention.

You are correct, but I never had any pain, discomfort or fatigue.  I had a mammogram every year, and last mammogram showed cancer.  I now have stage 3.  But if you have  anything strange or different or you think something is wrong, most definitely get to a doctor asap!

My doctor orders a PSA blood test for prostate cancer about twice a year, so far so good.

I need a colon cancer screening will do it soon.I sometimes wonder what causes cancer. What we eat and breath,Heavy smoking or drinking. Stress,  just bad luck .My cousin died of breast cancer at 36 may have been in her family.I'm trying to eat better and look at foods to fight cancer like greens and fish. Maybe a cure will come about soon.

I just went through the entire call back / ultra sound / biopsy  from results from my mammogram.  But it was my first one & they were just setting baselines & all turned out fine.   Scary stuff.   I feel for all those with cancer, I watched my mother deal with Lymphoma at a young age, she was diagnosed stage 4...  she lived a healthy lifestyle, so you never can predict.

Definitely get physicals every year.

I have had melanoma (skin cancer) before so I go to the dermatologist religiously ever six months to get checked for that. I go to a regular internist every six months to get checked for every other kind of cancer you could get.
