Survey Magic
« on: September 15, 2016, 05:13:09 pm »
This post is MY OWN OPINION and it may or may not even be true, but I promise if you read it with an open mind and put it to the test, you can find out for YOURSELF!

In the 9 years I have been doing this, I have read more posts than I can count, saying how terrible the Surveys are and how they are not worth the time to even try them. I even shared that sentiment for many of those years and wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.

This advice is not for everyone, it takes time and patience with a dash of magic to make it work, but all I can say is it has been working for me recently, so I am passing it along for you to prove or abandon. Your Decision.

What seems to be the solution (to me) is not to GIVE UP so easy. It's my theory, that these survey companies keep tabs on what we do as part of the decision process to allow us to take a particular survey or disqualify us. It's not with perfect accuracy, but it does seem to be a strong leaning.

So the first tip is to BE HONEST! If you tell even a few little white lies, they will know it and your success will suffer. Then keep at it long enough (MONTHS) to establish your reputation so they start trusting you. I have heard all the crap about demographics and helped spread it myself, but no one is any worse than me. I am 78 years old, retired with no job and not even looking, live in Oregon where the stereotype is all rural rednecks, have no kids at home, don't make much money, drive a cheap Nissan car, own the cheapest smartphone around and pay almost nothing for my service, and probably more I can't think of right now.

But recently I started trying 30 or 40 surveys a day and didn't let the ones that died on the vine bother me. I just kept trying more as long as they held out, like a bulldog on a bone.

Let's cut to the chase, yesterday I made almost $5 from surveys alone. I had 22 I got credit for (mostly penny DQ's), but some 75 or 80 cent ones. I tried a couple of those $5 ones and got DQ'd, but eight of the ones I tried completed.

Today I started out with at least a dozen bombs, then got a 10 cent one. I didn't let that bother me and before 5 PM (still time left) I had made $1.75 from Surveys and have one I sent an email to that crashed on the last page. My goal is to get $1 a day, so I can cashout every month again, without counting on referral bonuses.

I know this is not very long to signal a genuine upturn, but it was encouraging enough to me to pass on.

For What It's Worth!

I agree with oldbuddy.  Once I made up my mind to cash out every month, I made it happen.  I don't think I could do it without the help of surveys.  I am also retired, and struggle to qualify for a survey, but when I keep trying and don't give up, I can eventually find one that will acccept me.  It's like the old saying, you might have to kiss a lot of frogs to find your prince! The secret is persistence. New surveys appear all the time.  Some of them are quite random, and interesting to boot!  You just never know when that next one will be a winner.  But in the discovery process, you can earn quite a few cents with DQ's!

'The first tip is to be honest' - how true that is!  If the shoe were on the other foot and I was running a marketing campaign through survey questionnaires, one of the first things I would set up is a system to gauge the accuracy of responses by the panelist.

If you are being truthful and taking the time to answer correctly then you may proceed.  If you rush through or show an inconsistent nature, out you go.

I think the moral of the story (other than being honest, which IS the first and biggest law of consistent survey earning) is the "try, try again" mentality.  Even the survey takers with jobs and kids at home and in the income brackets placing them in the most coveted demographics are likely to get DQ'd more often than accepted. But if you keep at it, it will come.

It is hard not to get discouraged when you go through a dry spell or don't get DQ'd until AFTER spending 15 or 20 minutes responding because it feels like a waste of time, but when you hit the one that pays, it makes the wait worth it.

A low success rate on surveys is still more successful than not trying at all.

Another "study" I would like to see actual results of (but am probably too impatient to conduct myself -- especially when I already generally know the answer) = If I spent 2 hours taking surveys vs. 2 hours clicking PTC ads, which would ultimately yield the higher return?

That points out your FIRST big problem. If you are trying to justify this like a part time job, you are doomed to failure. I can't even begin to tell you how much time I spent to get where I am, but I guarantee it's way less than $1 an hour and I am used to getting $50 a hour working on computers for businesses. The difference is, I am happy doing this on my own schedule, because it keeps me engaged in brain activity that is way better than sitting around watching the grass grow, or spending big money on some hobby (Golf?) like a lot of my friends do.

Very good advice.  You do have to keep trying on surveys.  Sometimes I will get frustrated then I stop for awhile.  Them I will go back and qualify for a few surveys.  You just never know unless you try.

Are you looking in the right places? Start from FC Surveys in the main menu, then click Peanut Labs at the bottom of the list, then on the side panel try each of the Daily Surveys and you should find dozens of them (more than most people would do). Not only that, but as you get rejected by one, they may suggest more for you to try.

It is good to realize that we are all in the same boat.  We just have to keep plugging at it and then take time off when necessary.

Thanks for your detailed post. I have been taking surveys for years. I used to get frustrated (sometimes still do) with them, but then my mindset changed. For me, it's not about how many I get disqualified from. I know eventually I'll get at least one. Most of the time I attempt the FC surveys because at least I'll get a penny for those. Setting a goal for an amount that I want to make each day also helps.
One thing that I've read from a few people is don't always discredit the lower paying surveys. Sometimes on the back end, there may be an opportunity for an additional incentive. One of my favorite things is being invited to an online study session. The ones I've done were at least $35.

I just don't have the time to spend trying all the surveys in the hopes that I might hit one I qualify for. I know FC gives a DQ penny, but I prefer sites like Clear Voice that pays 10 cents for disqualified surveys, so at least I haven't totally wasted my time. Even there, I only attempt a few, because my computer time is so limited.

I am convinced that the survey companies keep track and qualify based on our track record. When I started attempting dozens of surveys every day at various times, my success increased. I used to think it was all luck, but I started to realize that the more I try the luckier I get.
