New Year Eve plans
« on: September 10, 2016, 05:17:18 am »
I thought about making plans for New Year eve so I went online and looked up Fire Keeper Resort in Battle Creek, MI and typed in the dates Dec 30th through Jan 2nd and they were booked solid.

Have you made reservations to go out of town for those dates?

Wow....haven't thought that far ahead.  I live in a small town in Southern Utah and unless I plan a party at home, New Year's Eve is celebrated at Denny's and/or Mike's Tavern.

I really don't care about a large celebration but there is one thing I care about on New Years Eve....

I want my kiss.
Have a great day!

I think that we are all becoming victims of Holiday marketing manipulation! I went to the grocery store two weeks ago and they had the Halloween decorations out already...two months in advance! This happens for Thanksgiving, Easter, Christmas and the fourth of July. Every retailer is trying to gain an edge in the market by jamming holiday junk down our throats. Spontaneity has so often brought more joy. Planning way ahead builds expectations, often unreasonable, that are bound to be let down. Planning vacations or monumental events is something I would definitely do. Sorry to here that your plans were dashed in Battle Creek. There are so many things to do and see on New Years Eve that I am sure you will find something more engaging.

I would love to make actual plans with someone special for New Years! My daughter will be here for the holidays and possibly New Years so of course I want to spend it with her but I hope to find someone to spend it with us too!

I usually like to stay home for New Years. If I get a little tipsy I don't have to worry about driving and I'm safer in the comfort of my own home. I watch the ball drop and then I go straight to bed.

I haven't thought that far yet, either! I'm still working on Halloween plans.  :pumpkin: I'm indecisive about my costume, but I know I want to go to a pumpkin patch and a haunted house attraction. Other than that... still looking for ideas. If there's anything fun going on downtown on New Year's Eve, I imagine I'll try to check that out.  :)

well yeah I love to watch Kathy Griffin and Anderson Cooper on CNN. they are very funny together. We haven't even got to Halloween and if Trump wins could mean the end of the world is soon so no plans for anything.

I will be home for New Years but booked for a cruise the next day.  A couple wanted us to go with them and I hardly ever pass up a reason to cruise.
