This is not the only Wells Fargo Fiasco.  There were some very nasty things going on in my local area.  One of the problems with big corporations is that there doesn't seem to be anyone in charge of 'minding the store'.

I've always preferred smaller banks, smaller businesses and so on because if they start out legit, they are much easier to manage.

I have become very good at saying no to whatever offers banks and other businesses are trying to sell to me.  Then I keep an eye on my records to make sure that no one tried to slip an offer past me.

People do anything to try and get a buck.  It was some type of incentive, but that's a lot of people plotting.  That's one of my banks but I always check my accounts on online and sometimes several times a week.  That's one good thing about the internet, you don't have to wait until the statement comes in the mail.

I hadn't heard about this until now. It doesn't surprise me though. Like many of you, I like the small town banks. You are more than just a number to them.

I was in banking for a long time. I moved up the corporate ladder quickly but managed to do it without being deceitful, cheating or advising consumers to take products that did not benefit them I was empathetic, put myself in the consumer's shoes to see if there was any benefit in the product. More times then not there wasn't. I still hit sales quotas but it was because I worked extra hours and placed the bank products in places that met needs. There is too much room for unscrupulous people to get ahead when a Bank offers incentives for additional products sold. Banks make enough money, should pay higher salaries, and not pay incentives for additional products sold. Wells Fargo has damaged the trust of a nation in banks and got a very light slap on the wrist for their immoral behavior. Management had to have known something if there were 5300 people let go.

Wow! That's crazy! I hadn't heard anything about it until now. I guess I need to watch the news more. I use a small bank, at least it used to be. It seems to be merging with others so it seems to be getting larger. I considered that a good thing. I guess maybe it isn't such a good thing.

Wow...I had heard about it in general but didn't know the details...that's crazy, though not too surprising I suppose...are the employees in trouble? Did they know? Or is it management who's getting in trouble? Definitely going to hurt the company ...

Wells Fargo is a terrible bank. They have ZERO loyalty to their customers. I was a customer for 20 years and fired them last fall after they screwed up depositing the proceeds from the sale of my  house.

I don't know but i'm guessing that this happened because of bank pressures on employees to make sales. Most tellers are required to sell financial products despite their low wages. Not saying its right but looking for a deeper cause

Typical Wall Street and bankers. It was fun watching Elizabeth Warren grilling Stumpf
