Flash Flood Warning
« on: September 06, 2016, 04:41:52 am »
Around twenty counties in southeast South Dakota and southwest Minnesota are in a flash flood warning until 10 am this morning.

Hopefully it won't be anything too severe.  Several years ago, heavy rains helped knock out an earthen berm next to a dam at the state park.  LOTS of water came down river when that happened.

My home insurance doesn't cover flood insurance, apparently it is not a standard.  Thankfully I live up on a hill so I think I'm good.    I wonder how many people in those flood zones were offered flood insurance, or who have flood insurance.

There are periodic flash flood warnings here in part of California, basically in the cities that were once desert that were built up.
