I dont think they are bad luck BUT if my grandmother were still alive and saw one she would stop whatever she was doing and slick her hair back 3 times...just to be on the safe side!!  lol

I have a solid black cat and he isn't bad luck at all!  We do make him come in and stay in for Halloween though for his own protection.  He likes being outdoors or we would keep him in all the time.  He is just fond of outdoors!

Not only is it a silly superstition, it came from the early Americans.  The British believe that black cats are good luck.
I believe ALL cats are good luck!
