look for your old disney VHS tapes

just seen a story about Disney tapes that are worth thousands.These are from 1988-1993 and are black diamond certified. My son seen this on his facebook page and just today I seen a story .Beauty and the Beast is just one  of the highest priced. Looked at ebay for these and was like what the is going on here. Going to call my daughter today she may have some.

I've seen that posted as well.  Such a shame, we had tons of them that we bought..first editions as soon as they came out.  Unfortunately we have none of them anymore.  Too many kids/grandkids/nephews/nieces watching them and they wore out.

I'm going to put that on my list of things to do today... check through all my Disney vhs tapes.

I think we just gave away a bunch of videos to Goodwill a few months ago!    I don't know that any were the Black Diamond labels though.


The local thrift and second hand stores might be a good place for people to look for these items -- you might get lucky and find some that are priced pretty cheap!

It's baloney.  The most you can get for a "rare" Disney tape will be between $5-$20.  Like the guy says in the News Video, below, "If that were the case, we'd all be rich."  If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is...

That may be true about the tapes, but anyone who follows that old myth about things being too good to be true, may be leaving a LOT of money on the table. Just this year I sold a domain name I had for $1,5000 and most people would think that was too good to be true. I did, but I put it through escrow and the money is now in the BANK! I could have thought the email offer I received was a scam, but I am sure glad I didn't.

I have seen it too but don't want to give them up.  My sisters have grandkids and keep asking for them but told them I am saving them for my own.  Even have a brand new VCR player still in the box waiting to be used.  Hopefully some day!!!

I need to check this out because I bought my daughter a lot of the Disney VHS tapes when she was growing up.  I still have them at my house.

The shortage causes prices to go up temporarily. Even though you are talking about original VHS versions of Disney titles, I can't imagine they are worth more than the original purchase price. Don't be fooled by false claims of rarity.

Actually, right now I'd be real happy to get the original purchase price for original Disney if it were true.
