Whole Foods is building a store close to me.  Does anyone know anything about it?  Prices, products, etc.

Whole Foods does seem to offer some unique products. But honestly, they're often very expensive, So that's something to keep in mind. I imagine they have some specific information about some of their offerings online. Of course, a trip there after they opened would probably tell you if it's somewhere you would like to shop.

They do carry items that other stores do not carry and is a good store if you eat very healthy.  They are expensive and I would not do my weekly shopping there.

It's a perfect store for people that subscribe to every food fad that comes down the pike.... So if you are looking for organic, gluten-free, cage-free, fair-trade, "chemical free", etc. foods, you'll be able to find it there. Because they offer these types of products, their costs are MUCH higher than you'd expect at a regular grocery store. Also, because their produce is organic, they tend to rot faster and have more damage (either from insects or weather) than non-organic couterparts.

When I was going to college, there was a Whole Foods that was fairly close to campus, so I did go there a few times. However their high prices and poor produce quality pushed me to find other, better (in my estimation) stores to shop at. I have never liked them and given the choice, I'll avoid shopping there.

I've only been in one before...it was a nice store. Very clean.  Prices were a bit on the higher side though.

I like the store and the atmosphere. I usually go there for the produce and sometimes their meat. The prices may be higher but for me I'm concerned about my health, which is why I shop there for certain items.

More expensive than others, more organic products and healthier selections available.  Love the prepared food, especially the Chantilly cake.

Whole Foods is a great store for more natural, organic type foods but I will say they are a bit pricier than the average grocery store.  I usually shop there when I need something organic that I can't find anywhere else.  Good luck on your shopping venture when they open, I think you'll find them interesting at the least.

Pretty much what others have said. It's higher priced for some of their items than the average supermarket, but they have a greater selection, particularly of organic products. They also have a great section for natural herbs & remedies.

Google JediJohnnie and May the Force be with you!

It is higher priced but there are many good selections to choose from if you have special dietary needs.

I have heard the name but that is about it.  You should def go check it out if it is close enough to do so.  They will have some good deals when they first open to try to draw people in.

They pride themselves on all organic and if you are on any special diet you can find it there.  The meat and produce are usually very good quality.  They are a little higher, but they are supposedly opening new stores that are a little lower in pricing.  Have to wait and see if your store is one of those.  I have always found them to be very clean and the staff to be really helpful.   I have heard of them having some problems, but don't really know what the were.
